The overall Motorhome of the Year 2012 has been announced to caravan insurance customers looking to give themselves the best value for money over the next 12 months. As well as taking the Fixed Bed Coachbuilt award, the Knaus Sky TI 650 MF gained the overall gong after expert delegates voted in its favour.

The Motorhome of the Year awards form the premier ceremony of its kind in the UK and are run by Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly (MMM) - the UK's best-selling motorhome magazine - and Which Motorhome, the nation's only motorhome test and buying publication.

Both periodicals came together for the combined awards to recognise the best campervans and motorhomes available up and down the nation, and the gathering was held at the Luton Hoo Hotel with dealers and manufacturers all invited to join in the fun.

The Knaus Sky TI 650 MF particularly impressed judges from MMM and Which Motorhome because of its "superb value for money, excellent design and impressive levels of equipment". Judge Rachel Stothert, the deputy editor of MMM, described it as "a great German motorhome which ticks the boxes".

Meanwhile, Dave Hurrell, road test editor for MMM and a senior judge, added: "Knaus is a previous winner, and this year it's done it again. The Sky TI 650 MF offers one of the most popular layouts in modern motorhoming – here presented in a high quality and appealing package that’s also extremely well designed."
