Caravan recommendations shows importance of friends for industry

While many people end up becoming caravan insurance policy holders because of their own interest in such accommodation, it looks like many people are investing because of recommendations from their friends. This is according to Haven, which revealed that a "staggering" 20 per cent of new holiday home owners make their investment after a recommendation by a relative or family friend.

A spokesperson for Haven Holiday Homes was keen to explain that while an escape to a caravan much like one of theirs may be a fine example of getting away from other people and enjoying a relaxing, quiet time, there are many people who go for the community aspect of ownership.

The representative said: "There's such a good social life and a great sense of community amongst our owners. Many of our parks have exclusive facilities such as lounges, bars, health clubs and spas and even owners only swimming pools. In addition we arrange lots of social events including regular themed party nights and special experiences such as chocolate workshops or wine tasting."

Indeed, with more and more holiday homes and caravan parks popping up around the country, it may be a much bigger community this time next year.
