Britons may be reminded of the importance of taking out static caravan insurance after a man in Wales escaped with his life from a fire.
According to the Daily Post, the unnamed male in his 60s and his dog were rescued by neighbour Phil Roberts when his caravan went up in flames at Bryn Gynog caravan park in Conwy.
Mr Roberts explained he was about to retire to bed when he heard someone shouting for help and went outside to see smoke rising from the vehicle.
"I went in and dragged him outside and stayed with him until the ambulance and fire service came," he told the news provider, adding: "He had a lucky escape."
The victim was taken to hospital in Bodelwyddan with smoke inhalation.
A government leaflet on protecting caravans and mobile homes from fire advises people to ensure they have at least one smoke detector fitted in their vehicle and check all electrical wiring is in good order.

Visitor numbers to the tourist hotspot are up by 30 per cent compared with last year, according to Marco Zeraschi, who has been catering for tourists through his cafe on the promenade at Barry Island for years.
