Caravanning 'helps people explore the great outdoors'

Individuals who enjoy caravan holidays are likely to get the opportunity to explore the great outdoors when on these domestic vacations.
Simon McGrath, editor of the Camping and Caravanning Magazine by the Camping and Caravanning Club - which has been in operation for more than 100 years and has over 300,000 members - has explained the organisation's mentality is all about adventures in the wild.

The industry figure was speaking as it was confirmed the publication is lending its support to the British Services Antarctic Expedition 2012 in honour of former president of the club Captain Robert Falcon Scott.

A two-month expedition will see 24 members of the British Services climbing in the Antarctica Peninsula and Mr McGrath said the group is pleased to be supporting such an inspirational trip.

"The club's core ethos of enjoying and exploring the outdoors goes back to the days of Captain Scott and even today he is remembered as a brave and iconic explorer," he added.
