Static caravans 'increasingly bought new'

A leading provider of static caravans has revealed that there has been a major shift in the way caravans are being bought up and down the UK. Park Resorts explained that while there was a 21 per cent increase in the sales of new static caravans in the last 12 months, though used caravan sales dropped during the same period. This signals the fact that caravan owners are beginning to understand their buying habits.
Used caravans have long been seen as a much more cost effective solution, whether it's for the initial purchase, caravan insurance or other reasons. Nonetheless, while new caravans are regularly pushing the bar and evolving to respond to the latest consumer requirements, "their prices are becoming increasingly competitive", Park Resorts asserted.

Senior brand manager from Park Resorts Gemma Francis said: "While all used units sold by Park Resorts are of the highest quality possible, we understand that many owners want to own a caravan that's never belonged to anyone else. Therefore, we try to make owning a new caravan simple and affordable."

There may be no better time to find a great deal on a caravan, either - the Motorhome, Camping and Caravan Show 2012, held this year at London's ExCeL, undoubtedly proved the competitiveness in the mobile home market.
